The 2016 Mastermind


This is me and some of my most successful clients and partners golfing today at the famous Coeur d’ Alene golf club.

The times have changed, but the real estate climate remains profitable. What’s more, is this week has given me an opportunity to reflect. Today, 7 people have joined me here in Coeur d’Alene Idaho for our Mastermind session.

This made me think back to the way this was originally planned and marketed. So I decided to share it with you, and explain exactly what a mastermind is. Below you will see how we originally intended to market this great brainstorming session.

“Have you to taken advantage of the resurgence in the real estate market? Have you located the right properties? Have you performed the due diligence and analyzed the potential profit and cash flow? Have you secured the funding?

While many of you reading this have in fact become investors, I have a theory — many of you could really use some outside input, a group of people who won’t pull any punches, who will tell you what they think of your ideas — good and bad, and will willingly share their best practices as well as the potholes they have encountered so you won’t.

Whatever the reason, it really is time for you to — how do they say — fish or cut bait!

My wife, Jaclyn, and my three children live and work in one of the most gorgeous places on the planet — Coeur d’Alene Idaho. I was born and raised in the immediate area, and returned here 6 years ago to raise my family. I can’t think of a better place.

In the winter, yes it gets cold and snowy, and yes we can’t wait until Spring arrives! It’s the greatest time of the year; it is a paradise. Lake Coeur d’Alene, on which the city of Coeur d’Alene is located, is a classic alpine lake that rivals Lake Tahoe.

It inspires me, it invigorates me and it has propelled my business exponentially. The schools are great, family values are the norm, and I actually feel closer to God here than I have anywhere else.

Why am I telling you this? It’s really simple: I want you to come here to supercharge your business like I have. Then I want you to return to your own hometown and catch fire with a business, marketing and asset multiplying plan that simply can’t fail!

How can I be sure you will succeed? Because I proved it to myself. Over the years, every time I reached a business impasse, I reached out to those who have mentored me and those I emulate. I spend time with them and their colleagues in masterminds, discussing my businesses and their businesses. What I learned is immeasurable. But the remarkable thing is this: I learned more actionable and profitable ideas from the participants than from the host. That’s the great thing about a mastermind — it’s the sharing, both painful and exciting, that results in profit. And those lifelong relationships, both business and personal that result.

Even today, I am a member of three different masterminds. Each of them meets three times a year for two or three days. And, except for the mastermind I recently joined, I continue to subscribe to them year after year.

Many of you have reached out personally to me to ask if I would consider taking a couple of days with you to dissect, invigorate and help reinvent your businesses. And each time, I have had to decline — not because I don’t want to help, but because frankly that time spent away from my business and my investments — and my family — well, it just doesn’t make sense. Until now.

So, what happened? One, I am holding the mastermind in Coeur d’Alene, where I live, (2) it’s time to help some motivated, bright investors take their businesses to the next level, and (3) I get so much out of the masterminds I belong to, that I just need to share — and learn from you!

This Isn’t A Lecture Or A Classroom Or Me Giving Advice. It’s Me And You And A Select Invited Group Sharing Our Successes And Failures, Our Ideas And Money-Making Strategies, And Our Contacts and Vision

All members will need to participate! Don’t think you can come into my backyard and sit with me and just soak up the knowledge and never give back. That is not what this is about. It’s collaborative, it’s intensive, and it will wear me out. It will wear you out, too, if you do it right. But, I really, really want to do this. I enjoy those masterminds I attend so much, and I have so much to share — and so much to learn!

So I commit this to you: I, Lee Arnold, solemnly swear and affirm that I will hold my mastermind — Summit Coeur dAlene the Lee Arnold Mastermind — for at least two years. I will hold six sessions, three times each year, during 2015 and 2016. I will give it my all. And, of course, I expect you as a participant to give your all, too. Trust me, if you accept my invitation and sit during the sessions like a bump on a log, soaking up all the wisdom, vision, ideas, contacts, and tactics that your fellow participants impart upon you, and never give back, I will ask you to leave. I have seen people kicked out of masterminds for that transgression a few times, and it isn’t pretty.

For my part, I guarantee to you: if you don’t double your investment in this mastermind through ideas, relationship, business arrangements and strategies within a year of attending, I will refund to you the membership cost!

I further guarantee to you: if at any time, at any session, you don’t feel you are getting 200% of the value you expected, pull me aside and say, “Lee, this just isn’t working for me. I want out,” and I will give you a prorated portion of your membership costs back.

Wait! I forgot to mention another thing. You will have homework. Before each session, you will be sent a list of items to bring, worksheets to complete, assessments to share, challenges to overcome and topics to discuss. You don’t bring them, you don’t have a seat at the mastermind table.

Three Sessions A Year — Two Days Each — Three Separate Disciplines

Discipline One the Business Multiplier. This is the basis, the foundation upon which the other disciplines are built. Whether you are just starting out, or have had a business for years, we will make sure we all understand the basics. Things like the right software for accounting, marketing and sales, how each of us capitalize our businesses, how we give our customers the right experience, and how we network, build a power team, plan, measure and hire. And more. Do we each have the right entities created to protect ourselves, our families and our businesses? Are we using the right time management strategies to help us get more productive work done? Are we managing our real estate investments ourselves or do we use a property management firm. What works for who and why? No book teaches this stuff. We all learn from each other.

Discipline Two the Marketing Multiplier. You might be a broker, a lawyer, a real estate investor, or plumber. But if you want to grow your business, we all are in exactly the same business — we need to perfect marketing. If you don’t think about marketing, you don’t have a business. It is as simple as that. We will share our experiences, success and failures in analog media (print, tv, radio, mail, etc.), and digital media (web sites, landing pages, Facebook, Twitter, blogging, etc.). Bring samples of what you use, what you like and what you hate. Each of us will emerge from the two-day Marketing Multiplier with more ideas than we can shake a stick at. After we leave, it will be on us to implement — of course with the help of all the contacts and support businesses our fellow participants use successfully safely stuffed into our contacts database.

Discipline Three the Asset Multiplier. How are we handling our wealth as it grows? We will be discussing our portfolios, our tax returns, and the contacts and firms we use to help our money grow. This mastermind is not only about growing your business, but growing your nest egg. We will discuss our monetary goals and what we are doing to each them. From setting up advanced trusts and wills, to creating entity structures that legally allow us to keep more of what we earn. We will talk with attorneys and advisors on our personal strategies and meet some of the smartest people I know on how to do this right. This isn’t so much about protecting our assets, although that certainly will be among the discussion topics, but more about keeping more and growing it faster.

Don’t get me wrong, I will be in charge. If you know me at all, you know me as someone who doesn’t shy from leading a group in a positive direction. I will facilitate the discussion, prod, coax and sweet talk you into getting the most. It’s two days of frank, sometimes heated and more times thoughtful discussion with each minute designed to get propel you to success. No newbies allowed, no naysayers accepted, no malcontents on this team, I promise you. Cuz it’s my house, folks, and what I say goes.

We will talk sales, we will talk presentations and we will talk real estate. It works, and so will you.

Here is the 2015 schedule:

  • Discipline One — the Business Multiplier: Wednesday, March 4 and Thursday, March 5, 2015
  • Discipline Two — the Marketing Multiplier: Wednesday, July 15 and Thursday, July 16, 2015
  • Discipline Three — the Asset Multiplier: Wednesday, October 7 and Thursday, October 8, 2015

Attend one or all three. All will be recorded and you will have the recordings sent to you when you attend. And if for some reason you can’t attend, you will get the recording anyway as a member. Even if you skip one — which i wholeheartedly don’t recommend — you can reattend the next if you like.

The cost of membership is $25,000 a year. I think I had the marketing department prepare a quick brochure so you can see all the benefits that go with being a member of Summit Coeur d’Alene • the Lee Arnold Mastermind. It should be attached. If you just want to try us out, it’s $10,000 per session. But you really, honestly need to act now, because…

Like I Said, I Am Committing To Only Six Sessions, And I Expect Them To Sell Out Quickly. Therefore, I Expect You To Act Quickly

Let’s see… what else. We will have guests, professionals, marketing gurus, and lawyers for short stretches. There will be warm up calls a few months prior to each session where we will discuss how we should prepare and what to expect. As a matter of fact, the first call was done January 15, but you will receive a recording of it  — if you act quickly. There is a lot to prepare for and you won’t get it done if you don’t act fast.”
